(May 14, 2026 – Richmond, KY) Elder Law Guidance is pleased to announce that its founder and managing attorney, Scott E. Collins, Esq., has been chosen and certified as a member by The Lawyers of Distinction. The honor goes to just 10% of lawyers in each state.
Members are nominated, then accepted based upon objective evaluation of an attorney’s qualifications, license, reputation, experience, and disciplinary history.
“It is a true honor to be named a 2026 Lawyer of Distinction in Elder Law, reflecting a commitment to high standards, client service, and excellence within the legal community,” Collins said. “These align with our firm’s values and embodies the spirit of our mission to protect families throughout Central Kentucky.”
Collins, a native of Middlesboro, Kentucky, brings a unique background to his elder law practice, shaped by early service as a U.S. Army Air Traffic Controller and years in ministry supporting families through aging and end-of-life challenges. He earned his law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University and went on to found his own firm focused on elder law, estate planning, and longevity planning.
A VA-accredited attorney, Collins is actively involved in leading professional organizations, including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar in 2024. His work has earned notable recognition, including selection to the Kentucky Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for three consecutive years and the 2026 Lawyers of Distinction honor for Excellence in Elder Law.
Lawyers of Distinction is a nationally and internationally recognized organization that honors excellence in the legal profession across approximately 30 practice areas, including elder law. It is the fastest growing community of distinguished lawyers in the United States. With members in all 50 states and several countries, membership is awarded through a rigorous vetting process based on professional achievements, peer recognition, and ethical standing.
